Both the Board of Commissioners and Land Use & Transportation staff regularly hear from community members about a project proposal or planning-and-development code sections that people believe should be created or changed.


We cannot include everything that is requested in our Draft Planning Work Program 2025-27. Reasons for this depend on the request, but often include:

  • Insufficient funding or staff time: A request may be too costly or time consuming to be taken on. Some of these might be considered in future years.
  • Legality: Some requests are not possible due to state or federal laws. Others might result in civil suits or other legal challenges.
  • County-wide impact: Implementing certain requests could have negative or unintended consequences.
